KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee of the federal parliament has finalized its schedule to conduct hearings for the 13 proposed ambassadorial nominees.
Speaking at a committee meeting on Tuesday, Committee Chair Bodh Narayan Shrestha said hearings for nominees facing general complaints are scheduled for October 12 and 13, while hearings for candidates facing serious allegations have been set for October 14.
“If any complaints necessitate an independent study, a dedicated subcommittee will be formed. In such cases, those specific hearings will take place after the Dashain festival.”
According to the committee, details regarding the filed complaints, alongside the formal work plans submitted by the ambassadorial nominees, have already been distributed to committee members.
Shrestha urged members to utilize the upcoming holidays to thoroughly review these documents ahead of the hearing sessions.
A cabinet meeting held on September 18 recommended ambassadors for 13 countries.
