KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has prorogued the summer session of both houses of the federal parliament effective Friday.
According to the Office of the President, President Paudel prorogued the session on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers as per Article 93(2) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015.
The summer session of the federal parliament, also known as the budget session, began on May 11 when the joint session of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly sat.
A total of 26 bills were registered in the House of Representatives during the session, including the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2026, registered on Thursday. However, only two bills were registered in the National Assembly.
