KATHMANDU: The total balance in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund has reached Rs 11.59 billion as of Tuesday evening.
The total balance consists of Rs 8.76 billion in its nine rupee-denominated accounts maintained in nine commercial banks and $21.10 million in its two dollar-denominated accounts.
The amount excludes the Rs 2.08 billion that was already in the fund before the Bhotekoshi disaster of August 26.
According to the finance ministry, Rs 306.2 million and $112,032 were collected in the fund on Tuesday alone.
The Fund on September 2 transferred Rs 1 billion to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority for relief and rescue operations.
