KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has sold the worldwide over-the-top (OTT) broadcasting rights of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) to NetTv Ptd Ltd for Rs 180.4 million.
Last year, DishHome Go had bagged the OTT rights for Rs 53 million.
DishHome GO, now branded as DGo Stream, had bid Rs 170 million for OTT rights.
Himalaya Television Network bagged the linear television rights for the Nepal region for Rs 146.4 million.
Likewise, eSewa Ltd has been awarded the ticketing rights for Rs 8.5 million. Under the agreement, CAN will receive 95% of the revenue generated from ticket sales, while eSewa will receive 5%.
CAN is holding the third season of the NPL at the TU International Cricket Ground from October 26 to November 21.
NPL features eight city-based franchises: Biratnagar Kings, Janakpur Bolts, Kathmandu Gorkhas, Pokhara Avengers, Chitwan Rhinos, Lumbini Lions, Karnali Yaks and Sudurpashchim Royals.
