KATHMANDU: Rescue workers found no additional survivors inside the Trishuli 3A hydropower project tunnel after rescuing two people alive and recovering a body on Friday.

Engineer Uday Nepane, who is involved in the search and rescue operation, said he entered the entire accessible section of the tunnel along with a team of 18 people for a recheck but found no one.

“I also entered the whole accessible section with 18 people to recheck, but nobody was found in either condition,” Nepane wrote on his Facebook page.

Two Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) employees, Sanjay Sah and Kabir Maharjan, were rescued alive from the tunnel on Friday morning. The two are currently receiving treatment at the Nepali Army Hospital in Kathmandu.

Rescue workers also recovered one body from the tunnel. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.

The tunnel was among the several sites affected by the devastating Bhotekoshi floods of August 26.
