187 tourists rescued; 420 still out of contact

KATHMANDU: The number of tourists rescued or accounted for after the Bhotekoshi flood has reached 187.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), 184 tourists have been rescued, while three others have made contact since Wednesday morning’s disaster.

The rescue tourists include 114 from India, 27 from China, 20 from South Korea, four from Germany, thre each from Italy and USA, two each from Spain, Switzerland and Turkey, and one each from Belgium, Bulgaria, Portugal and Oman.

However, 420 tourists are still out of contact, according to the latest data released by the NTB.

Many tourists traveling to Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet, China, via the Rasuwagadhi border went out of contact after floods hit the area on Wednesday.
