Three ministers from NCP join Lumbini cabinet

BUTWAL: Lumbini Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya has inducted three ministers from coalition partner the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) in his cabinet.

Province Chief Krishna Bahadur Gharti Magar on Monday appointed Dipendra Pun, Indrajit Tharu and Krishna Kushma Tharu of the CPN as ministers on the recommendation of Chief Minister Acharya as per Article 168(9) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015.

The new ministers will be administered the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday afternoon.

Dipendra Kumar Pun of Rolpa has been appointed as Minister for Health, Indrajit Tharu of Dang as the Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, and Krishna Kushma Tharu of Bardiya as the Minister for Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives, according to the Office of the Province Chief.

Chief Minister Acharya has retained Tulsi Prasad Chaudhary as Minister for Forests, Environment and Tourism; Ramji Prasad Ghimire as Minister for Social Development; Santosh Kumar Pandey as Minister for Urban Development, Energy, Irrigation and Water Supply; Ratna Bahadur Khatri as Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development; and Bhandari Lal Ahir as Minister for Internal Affairs, Law, Industry and Transport.

Ahir represents Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal, while the other four are from the CPN-UML.
