One missing, two injured after landslide in Bajura

BAJURA: One person is missing and two others have been injured after a landslide buried houses in Tamsu of Triveni Municipality-9 in Bajura district following incessant rainfall.

The landslide buried the houses of local residents Dharma Thapa, 39, and Karn Bahadur Thapa, 43, after heavy rain began falling continuously last night.

According to Police Inspector Naresh Bahadur Shahi, information officer at the District Police Office, two people were injured when the houses were buried by the landslide.

Nanda Thapa, ward chair of Triveni Municipality-9, said continuous rainfall has made it difficult to rescue the injured and search for the missing person.

Following the incident, a 17-member team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Shaileshwori Bohara, chief of the District Police Office, has headed to the site with necessary rescue equipment.
