ROLPA: Three people have died after a landslide buried seven houses and sheds, including the home of Kamal Bahadur Pun Magar, in Botlabara of Thabang Rural Municipality-5 in Rolpa district on Wednesday night
According to DSP Panchakumar Bakhu, chief of the District Police Office, Rolpa, a 71-year-old woman was recovered dead from the landslide debris on Thursday morning.
Earlier, Shanti Pun Magar (18) and Kamal Bahadur Pun Magar, around 60, had been confirmed dead.
“Two injured, Himal Pun Magar (22) and Sanjay Gharti Magar (25), have been sent to a hospital for treatment,” DSP Bakhu said. “Ten are still missing.”
Police and local residents are searching for the people by clearing the debris.
The landslide occurred at around 8:45 pm when a slope above the settlement suddenly collapsed.
Police reached the incident site at 10:15 pm.
