KATHMANDU: Nepali women runners will have the opportunity to compete in the Nagoya Women’s Marathon 2027, the world’s largest women-only marathon, with international entries now open for the March 14 race.
The overseas entry period opened on August 11, 2026, and will remain open until September 23, subject to availability. Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and will close once the overseas quota is filled.
The 2027 edition is expected to bring together 22,000 runners, an increase of 2,000 from the previous capacity, with 3,500 places reserved for overseas participants, according to the organizers.
The marathon is open to women aged 19 and above. The race starts and finishes at Vantelin Dome Nagoya and has a relatively flat course and a seven-hour time limit designed to accommodate runners with different levels of experience.
The 2027 marathon will also serve as a Marathon Grand Championship Series 2026–27 women’s G1 race.
