Speaker Aryal directs govt to respond to issues raised by lawmakers

KATHMANDU: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has directed the government to respond to the contemporary issues raised by lawmakers in the House of Representatives.

During the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, Speaker Aryal instructed the government to address the serious and important public concerns raised by the members of during the emergency and zero-hour sessions.

He also directed the government to inform the House about its preparedness for possible natural disasters during the monsoon season.

The Speaker’s direction comes at a time when lawmakers have repeatedly drawn the government’s attention to current issues through parliamentary proceedings.

“I instruct the government to respond to the serious issues raised by honorable members to provide information on the measures taken to minimize potential loss of life and property due to floods, landslides, and inundation in various parts of the country, as well as on disaster preparedness efforts,” Aryal said.
