Madhesh cabinet reshuffled; five new ministers sworn in

KATHMANDU: Madhesh Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav has reshuffled his cabinet.

According to the Office of the Province Chief, Province Chief Surendra Labh Karna inducted five new ministers in the province government on the recommendation of Chief Minister Yadav.

Yadav expanded his cabinet by inducting one member from the Nepali Congress (NC), three from the CPN-UML, and one from the Nepali Communist Party (NCP).

Nagendra Sah from NC has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Health and Population. Earlier, Jangilal Raya of the same party was heading the ministry. Chief Minister Yadav has replaced him with Sah.

Similarly, from the UML, Sharda Devi Thapa has been appointed Minister for Labour and Transport, Lakhan Das Tatma as Minister for Sports and Social Welfare, and Manoj Kumar Singh as Minister for Education and Culture.

UML lawmaker Mohammad Samir, who had earlier taken oath as a minister without portfolio, has now been assigned the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development.

Yubaraj Bhattarai from the NCP has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance.

Province Chief Karna administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers earlier on Tuesday.

New Madhesh Cabinet
