KATHMANDU: Two people died after being crushed by a tree uprooted by strong winds in Thabang of Rolpa on Tuesday.
According to District Police Office, Rolpa, the deceased have been identified as Ruju Jhakri (60) and Manbuji Jhakri (50)) from Helobang in Thabang Rural Municipality-2.
Ruju died on the spot on Monday, while Manbuji passed away on Tuesday while being transported to Pokhara for medical treatment.
The two women had gone to visit a patient at the Thabang Basic Hospital on Monday evening when the incident occurred. While they were returning home after visiting the patient, an Uttis (alnus nepalensis) uprooted by strong winds fell on them, police say.
