KATHMANDU: Four young girls died by drowning in separate incidents in Mahottari on Friday.
According to the District Police Office, Mahottari, three girls died in a river at Sarpallo in Manarashiswa Municipality-7. The deceased have been identified as Sneha Kumari (12), her sister Shivani Kumari (6), and Afsana Khatun (12).
The three drowned while they were taking a bath at the confluence of the Ankushi and Janga rivers.
Similarly, Dipika Kumari (2) of Rajkhor in Gaushala Municipality-4 drowned in a puddle in a field near her house.
Police said necessary investigations into both incidents are underway.
