KATHMANDU: Shram Sanskriti Party (SSP) Chairperson Harka Raj Rai, popularly known as Harka Sampang, questioned the absence of Prime Minister Balendra Shah from the House of Representatives on Thursday as well.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives, Sampang said the Prime Minister must respond to issues raised by lawmakers. He insisted that the Prime Minister was obligated to answer questions raised by lawmakers under Sub-rule 2 of Rule 15 of the House regulations.
He also asked the Speaker whether the Prime Minister was a member of parliament.
Sampang reiterated that the Prime Minister should clear the way if he were unable to fulfil his responsibilities. ” I asked questions about landless squatters, peace and security situation of the country, and border issues about 10 days ago as the PM is also overseeing defence and home affairs ministries,” he said. “The Prime Minister must answer these questions.”
