Pakistani mission in Kathmandu observed Marka-e-Haq Day

KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu on Sunday observed Marka-e-Haq Day with a ceremony marked by solemnity and national pride.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H Hashmi, hoisted the national flag at the embassy premises in the presence of officials, members of the Pakistani community, their families, and friends of Pakistan. Messages from Pakistan’s leadership were also read on the occasion.

In his message, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said Marka-e-Haq demonstrated that Pakistan’s deterrence is grounded in professional capability, tri-service coordination and national resolve. He paid tribute to members of the armed forces and those who lost their lives in service to the country.

Similarly, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the day as one of gratitude and remembrance. He said the day highlighted what he called Pakistan’s resilience in adversity and the role of its armed forces in defending the country across land, sea, air and cyber domains.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Hashmi paid tribute to the sacrifices and professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces and the unity of its people. He said Marka-e-Haq symbolises Pakistan’s resolve and commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity, adding that national determination remains key in the face of external challenges.
