KATHMANDU: The European Union has expressed interest in extending support and cooperation in the priority areas of the current Nepali government.
EU Ambassador to Nepal Veronique Lorenzo conveyed the bloc’s willingness to support the new government’s priorities during a meeting with Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel on Friday.
During the meeting held at the ministry, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in the education sector, among other issues.
Minister Pokharel appreciated the EU’s support to Nepal’s school education sector, particularly in strengthening equitable access, quality education, and the professional development system for teachers.
He also said there was scope for further cooperation in areas such as inclusive education, infrastructure development, and teacher professional development.
