POKHARA: Police in Kaski have arrested a man on suspicion of killing his father.
Ram Bahadur Gharti (65) was found dead in the bedroom of his house in Bangedanda, Rupa-4, at around 6 pm on April 19. A team from the Area Police Office, Shishuwa, that reached the crime scene found Ram Bahadur strangled with his own muffler. The door to the bedroom was open.
The District Police Office, Kaski, said on Sunday that Ram Bahadur’s youngest son, Bhim Bahadur Gharti, 34, is suspected of involvement in the crime. “During initial interrogation, Bhim Bahadur told us he committed the act after dreaming that his father would kill him if he did not act first,” said DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kaski.
Police have obtained a 10-day remand to keep Bhim Bahadur in custody for further investigation.
