Rabi vows tough action against corruption in his New Year wish

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has said that the New Year 2083 BS will be a year of “pulling out the nails.”

Extending New Year greetings via a social media post on Tuesday, Lamichhane said: “It is a year of pulling out the nails—it will hurt, may we all have the strength to endure.”

Lamichhane was referring to efforts being made by the government to uproot longstanding irregularities and entrenched political distortions.

RSP’s majority government, led by Senior Leader Balendra Shah, has hinted that it will launch investigations into several past corruption cases and scams allegedly orchestrated with the involvement of leaders from the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), which have ruled the country for much of the past four decades.
