KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has prorogued both sessions of the Federal Parliament on the recommendations of the Council of Ministers.
According to the Office of the President, the ongoing sessions of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly will formally end at midnight on Friday.
The House of Representatives is scheduled to elect the Deputy Speaker on Friday.
The lower house elected the Speaker on Sunday.
Meanwhile, President Paudel is scheduled to address the joint session of the Federal Parliament at 3 pm on Friday.
