RSP Vice President DP Aryal
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Vice President Dol Prasad Aryal has ben elected as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Arjun Narsingh KC, chairing the session as the senior-most member of the House of Representatives, announced that Aryal has ben elected to the position unopposed.
“Since only one proposal had been registered nominating Dol Prasad Aryal for the Speaker, he is elected to the position unopposed,” KC said.
Aryal had filed his nomination on Friday. RSP President Rabi Lamichhane was the proposer in Aryal’s nomination while Vice President Swarnim Wagle and party leader Sobita Gautam were seconders.
The lower house wil now initiate the process of electing the Deputy Speaker.
