RSP Vice President Aryal files nomination for Speaker

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Vice President DP Aryal has filed his nomination for the post of Speaker.

Aryal registered his nomination at the Federal Parliament Secretariat on Wednesday. RSP President is the proposer in his nomination, while RSP Vice President Swarnim Wagle and leaders Sobita Gautam and Sunil Lamsal are seconders.

As per the election schedule published by the Federal Parliament Secretariat, candidates can file their nominations till 2 pm. The secretariat will publish the final list of candidates at 2:30 pm.

The proposal to elect the Speaker will be tabled in the House meeting on Sunday.

Since RSP holds a strong majority in the lower house, Aryal is certain to be elected the new Speaker.
