KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has permitted police to keep former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in custody for five days for investigation.
The bench of District Judge Ananda Shrestha granted a five-day remand for Oli and Lekhak following a hearing on Sunday.
Police had arrested both leaders on Saturday morning, acting on government instructions, over allegations of suppressing the Gen-Z movement.
They were presented before the court for remand on Sunday. While Lekhak was produced before the district court for the hearing, Oli, who is currently admitted to TU Teaching Hospital, attended the hearing virtually.
