US Embassy starts nationwide entrepreneurship skill-building program

KATHMANDU: The US Embassy in Kathmandu, in partnership with the International Development Institute (IDI) and Aadyanta Advisory, has launched a nationwide Entrepreneurship Skill-Building Program.

The program, which began in Nepalgunj on Tuesday, will continue in Dhangadhi, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Hetauda, Bhairahawa, and Pokhara, according to a press statement issued by the embassy on Tuesday. “This initiative will equip early-stage entrepreneurs across Nepal with practical skills to build sustainable businesses, attract investment, and compete in regional and global markets,” it added.

The embassy is expecting participation of around 200 entrepreneurs from all seven provinces in a series of in-person workshops and virtual bootcamps.

According to the embassy, training sessions will focus on business fundamentals, market validation, investor communication, digital marketing, and export readiness. The embassy hopes that these core competencies will help entrepreneurs transform ideas into viable companies that generate jobs, boost trade, and drive long-term economic growth in Nepal.

“Entrepreneurs are essential to economic growth and innovation,” Mike Harker, Public Affairs Chief at the US Embassy in Nepal, said. “By supporting Nepali founders as they build scalable businesses, this program strengthens Nepal’s private sector and creates new opportunities for trade and commercial cooperation between the United States and Nepal.”

This initiative is part of the US–Nepal Commercial Diplomacy Series, which expands economic ties by promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and private sector growth.

The International Development Institute and Aadyanta Advisory are implementing the program in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce Nepal and the Global Impact Collective.
