Khotang helicopter crash: Injured airlifted to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: A man injured in a helicopter accident in Khotang on Wednesday morning has been brought to Kathmandu for treatment.

The helicopter with callsign 9N-AFQ, operated by Air Dynasty, crashed at around 11:51 am while attempting to land at Balabensi in Ward-2 of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality on Wednesday.

According to DSP Prakash Budhathoki of District Police Office, Khotang, the chopper was carrying five family members and relatives of Nagmani Rai from Kathmandu.

Videos shared on social media show the helicopter suddenly flipping over after touching down on the helipad before crashing.

A rescue helicopter airlifted the pilot and the injured man to Kathmandu. The condition of other passengers is reported to be normal.
