Constitution has taken the right course after the election: Home minister Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal

KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal has said that the constitution has taken the right course after the elections and that the polls have laid the foundation for good governance.

Speaking at a meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday, Aryal thanked officials of the Central Security Committee, Provincial Command Posts, and District Security Committees for successfully conducting the House of Representatives election in a clean, fair, and fear-free environment. He expressed gratitude to the members of the Central Security Committee, officials of the Provincial Command Posts in all seven provinces led by the principal secretaries, and the District Security Committees in all 77 districts coordinated by the chief district officers for playing their roles effectively in completing a historic, bloodless election.

The meeting was attended by Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha, chiefs of the four security agencies, heads of divisions at the ministry, as well as officials of the provincial command posts and district security committees through virtual participation.

“This historic achievement was made possible due to the important role played by employees at all levels — from those working at the center to those deployed in the field. Only through collective and joint efforts was it possible to achieve this milestone,” Aryal said.

Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha said that officials carried out their responsibilities with professionalism, integrity, and impartiality in the field, which helped Nepal receive high praise from international observers.

Officials of the provincial command posts and district security committees who joined the virtual meeting shared their experiences regarding election security management. They said the election was cleaner, fairer, more secure, and more error-free than any held in the past 30 years.
