KATHMANDU: The identity of a Nepali national, who died in an Iranian drone attack in Dubai on Sunday, has been established.

According to the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi, Diwas Shrestha (29) of Gorkha died in the attack.

“We have received information from the foreign ministry of the UAE that Diwas Shrestha, 29, of Gorkha, who was working as a security guard for Middle East Company, died in the attack,” the embassy said in a statement on Monday. “We extend heartfelt tribute to Shrestha and offer condolences to the bereaved family.”

The embassy also said it was doing necessary work to send the body to Nepal.

Two others, one from Pakistan and the other from Bangladesh, were also killed in the attack.
