KATHMANDU: Peoples Campus organized a digital banking awareness program to educate students about safe online financial practices on Friday.
According to the college, the program focused on the increasing use of digital banking channels and the potential threats associated with them.
Journalist Chiranjibi Bhattarai made a presentation on the occasion, highlighting various aspects of digital banking, including online payment systems, mobile banking services, and the use of QR codes in financial transactions. He shed light on common cyber threats such as phishing, OTP (One-Time Password) misuse, and online fraud schemes that can occur due to carelessness or lack of awareness. He emphasized the importance of adopting secure transaction practices and urged participants to remain vigilant while conducting digital financial activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Campus Chief Manoj Bahadur Kunwar, said that incidents of fraud and cybercrimes have increased with the expansion of digital banking services. He urged students and service users to conduct transactions cautiously and responsibly.
Similarly, Assistant Principal Rojesh Pandit encouraged students to enhance their digital literacy and adopt secure banking practices in their daily lives.
The campus administration has said that it plans to continue organizing similar awareness programs in the future to promote safe and responsible use of digital financial services.
