KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army Divisional Commanders’ Coordination Meeting kicked off in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Speaking at the meeting held at the army headquarters, Prime Minister Sushila Karki instructed security forces to remain vigilant and ensure that there are no lapses whatsoever in election security. “To ensure this election is conducted safely, analyze the experiences of previous elections as well as the various dimensions of the upcoming polls, and work in close coordination with all security agencies on the basis of security sensitivity, in a flawless manner,” Karki instructed senior army officials.
Division Commanders of all eight divisions of the Nepali Army are participating in the meeting organized twice every year.
Chief of the Army Staff Ashokraj Sigdel briefed participants on the overall security situation.
According to the Directorate of Information and Public Relations of the Nepali Army, participants reviewed the situation in their respective areas of responsibility, assessed the work carried out, presented suggestions, and discussed contemporary issues.
Heads of different divisions, departments, and directorates of the Nepali Army are participating in the meeting.
