KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has called on the Japanese business community to explore trade and investment opportunities in Nepal.

Addressing an interaction with the Japanese business community in Tokyo, Paudel said the Nepali government is committed to providing all possible support for investment and business.

President Paudel, who is on a three-day official visit to Japan on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan, also said Nepal is seeking to build close partnerships with Japan’s private sector. “We have created a conducive environment with attractive investment returns, profits, and easy procedures for capital repatriation. Nepal is committed to providing full support, seamless facilitation, and security for foreign investment,” he added.

Calling on Japanese investors to invest and do business in Nepal with confidence, President Paudel urged them to explore sectors such as agriculture, water resources, and tourism.

On the occasion, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai and Joint Secretary Bhrigu Dhungana made separate presentations on Nepal’s investment potentials.
