KATHMANDU: Roshan Bista of Kanchanpur and Sonam Wadmo Tamang of Kathmandu have been declared ‘Mr Yogi’ and ‘Miss Yogi’, respectively, at the 7th National Yogasana Championship.
Organised by Dikshalaya School, Kapan, the competition featured athletes across multiple age groups. Bista, who won the men’s title in the 18–28 age group, also created history by becoming the first athlete to win the ‘Mr Yogi’ title three times at the national level, the school said in a statement.
The championship saw winners crowned across various age categories, from 10–14 years to above 55 years, in both men’s and women’s divisions.
Dikshalaya School fully sponsored accommodation and meals for all participating athletes. School founder principal Durga Prasad Dahal said the institution was delighted to host players and technical officials from across the country and pledged to continue organising national-level competitions in the future.
National Sports Council (NSC) Member-Secretary Ram Charitra Mehta distributed medals, certificates and cash prizes to the winners.
