Abolition of federalism top agenda in RJM’s election manifesto

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Janamorcha (RJM) has unveiled its election manifesto with the abolition of federalism among its main priorities.

The party made its manifesto public by organizing a program in Butwal on Wednesday.

Party chairperson Chitra Bahadur KC, along with other senior leaders, released the party’s manifesto for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.

Speaking on the occasion, KC said the manifesto focuses on scrapping federalism and safeguarding the country’s nationality, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, among other key issues.

He accused those in power in previous governments of attempting to dissolve the sitting Parliament and hold elections by installing individuals linked to NGOs and INGOs in the government. “Leaders, who had joined the government believing elections would not be held, resigned and entered the electoral race once elections were confirmed,” he said. “They prioritized their own interests over national interests.”

KC said the country’s very nationality is in a precarious situation.

Stating that people who push the country into difficulty tend to come to power after every election, he urged voters to act responsibly this time and support candidates committed to working in the national interest.

He also urged people to vote for their candidates in the upcoming elections.
