KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has been hospitalized after being diagnosed with cellulitis, according to his personal secretariat.
Lamichhane sustained a minor injury to his left leg during a recent party program in Janakpur. Although the injury was initially not serious, it later developed into cellulitis, prompting doctors to admit him for close medical supervision, his personal secretary Abinash Acharya wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
He is currently receiving treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.
“Based on medical examinations and medical advice, it has been necessary to keep him in hospital under doctors’ supervision for a few days,” Acharya wrote. He added that Lamichhane will return to his regular political and organisational activities only after completing treatment and making a full recovery.
Lamichhane’s absence from public programmes in recent days had drawn attention, especially as the party’s senior leader and PM candidate Balen Shah has remained active in party-related events.
