KATHMANDU: Two writ petitions challenging the 10-point agreement reached between the government and Gen Z representatives on December 10 have been referred to a full bench of the Supreme Court.
A division bench of Justices Kumar Regmi and Sunil Kumar Pokhrel on Tuesday issued an order to forward the case for a full hearing.
Dr Prem Raj Silwal and others, and Advocate Sudip Bhandari and others filed the petitions, naming Prime Minister Sushila Karki and the Council of Ministers as defendants.
The petitioners have raised questions over the agreement. They have claimed that an interim government does not have the authority to enter into political and structural agreements with long-term and far-reaching consequences.
The petitions have sought a writ of certiorari declaring the 10-point agreement and the related notice published in the Nepal Gazette unconstitutional and void.
