KATHMANDU: Bangladesh have lifted the title of the 2026 SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship with 15 points from six matches.
Bangladesh, who needed to avoid defeat in their final match to clinch the title, hammered the Maldives 14–2.
Bhutan, who were second on the table ahead of the final match day, went down 5–2 to Nepal on Sunday and finished third. India defeated Sri Lanka 5–2 and leapfrogged Bhutan to finish second.
Nepal won three matches in the championship, while losing two and drawing one. Nepal opened the championship with a 2–2 draw against Sri Lanka and won their second match against the Maldives 5–0. Although they went down 8–1 to India in the next match and 3–0 to Bangladesh, they recorded a 5–1 win over Pakistan in their fifth match.
Six SAFF member nations participated in the championship held in Bangkok.
