Indian Army Day marked in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Embassy of India in Kathmandu organized a special event on Thursday to mark the 78th Indian Army Day.

According to the embassy, the event highlighted the long-standing military ties between Nepal and India.

Chief of Army Staff of the Nepali Army, Ashok Raj Sigdel, who also holds the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army, graced the occasion and extended his congratulations and best wishes on the Army Day.

Speaking at the event, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, Dr Rakesh Pandey, acknowledged the invaluable contribution of the Gorkha soldiers serving in the Indian Army, including their historic role in strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
