We should end divisions over special convention: Sharma

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said the party will move forward without maintaining divisions or distance between those who signed in favour of the special general convention and those who did not.

“Those who change can bring change. We too must now take a resolve to change,” Khadka said in a Facebook livestream after the Election Commission decided to recognize the Gagan Thapa–led Central Working Committee elected by the Special General Convention. “Whether one signed for the special general convention or not, there should no longer be rifts or distance among us.”

Sharma also said the party will go to the election, projecting party president Gagan Thapa as the future prime minister.

He added that one group of leaders had already made meaningful interventions, and that the time had now come for the other group to step in.

Sharma further said that the Nepali Congress has committed to guaranteeing good governance as demanded by the Gen Z movement.
