KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane has said that his meeting with Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah did not involve any discussion on the sharing of positions.
Speaking to journalists in Chitwan on Tuesday, Lamichhane said there was no talk regarding posts.
Asked by journalists whether there was an agreement to make Balen Shah the prime minister, he said, “We have not entered that stage yet. There is no need to rush at this point.”
He said the RSP is in dialogue with what are described as new and alternative political forces. Discussions have begun with these forces to reach a conclusion, he said. “We will also hold discussions with Sudan Gurung and Kulman Ghising. It is also our responsibility to bring everyone together,” he said.
Lamichhane and Balen held talks for nearly seven hours on Monday night.
