KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli met with Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba at the latter’s residence in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, on Friday.
This is the first meeting between the two leaders since the Gen Z protests of September 8 and 9.
Protesters physically assaulted Deuba and his spouse, Arzu Rana Deuba and torched the couple’s residence in Budhanilkantha. Oli, who was the Prime Minister during the protest, stepped down and was kept in an army barracks. Protesters also torched his Balkot residence.
The two leaders discussed the upcoming National Assembly and House of Representatives elections and political developments in the country since the September protests.
