POKHARA: A total of 1,201 complaints were registered with the Pokhara office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) during the fiscal year 2024/25.
The office handled a total of 1,360 cases in 2024/25, including 159 complaints carried over from the previous fiscal year. Around 87% of these cases have been settled through screening and preliminary investigation. Only 101 complaints remain to be resolved, according to the CIAA’s 35th Annual Report for 2024/25, which was submitted to Gandaki Province Chief Dilli Raj Bhatta on Friday.
CIAA’s Pokhara Office Chief Dr Narayan Prasad Regmi presented the report to the Province Chief as per Article 294(3) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015.
According to Dr Regmi, only 101 of the total complaints remain pending. “Although Gandaki had the fewest complaints among all provinces, Pokhara Metropolitan City has the highest number of complaints among local units,” he added.
Receiving the report, Province Chief Bhatta said that controlling corruption and promoting good governance are the foremost concerns of the general public. He added that the CIAA must remain strong and effective in fulfilling this responsibility.
“Curbing financial irregularities and corruption is a challenging task. I believe the anti-graft body will continue to play an active role in establishing and strengthening good governance in the country,” he added.
