KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to channel all its energy toward the upcoming House of Representatives elections slated for March 5, 2026.

A meeting of the party’s Secretariat held on Wednesday concluded that all organizational and political activities will now be directed toward election preparedness.

The meeting has decided to launch a voter registration facilitation campaign and begin the process of selecting proportional representation (PR) candidates.

According to the decision, the party will call for applications for PR candidates by November 8 and hold internal discussions to finalize required procedures and documents.

Recognizing what it called the ‘risk of regression’ if collaboration among new political forces, independent thinkers and young reformists is not forged, the party announced it will host a Grand Political Dialogue on Friday. According to the party, the event aims to build a shared understanding of the origins, outcomes, and reform messages of recent political movements; outline a framework for unity and cooperation to promote democratic values, progress, and national interest; and explore strategic partnerships ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

In addition, the Secretariat has decided to resume local-level conventions at ward and municipal levels, conduct training sessions across districts and among the diaspora, and direct party units to organize various campaigns within their jurisdictions.
