NC directs party units to support voter registration campaign Nepali Congress Central Party Office

KATHMANDU: At a time when the CPN-UML has been showing reluctance to participate in the March 5 polls, the Nepali Congress has instructed all its units across the country to make an environment for a more organized and effective voter registration campaign ahead of the upcoming elections.

Issuing a circular on Friday, the party’s general secretaries, Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwo Prakash Sharma, said the Central Working Committee will take appropriate decisions in light of the evolving political context and added that it is essential for the party to mobilize actively in the voter registration drive.

According to the directive, office bearers and members of province committees will be assigned to different districts as representatives to focus fully on the “All Attention on Voter Registration Campaign” after the Chhath festival.

Similarly, the general secretaries have directed district committees and all subordinate party structures to temporarily put other activities on hold and prioritize the voter registration drive.
