PM Karki, ministers pay final tribute to Bipin Joshi

KATHMANDU: The body of Bipin Joshi, who was killed while being held hostage by Hamas, was brought back to Nepal on Monday.

His remains were flown to Kathmandu in the afternoon following a final farewell ceremony held in Israel on Sunday.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Energy Minister Kul Man Ghising, and Communication Minister Jagdish Kharel, among others, paid their final respects to Joshi at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Karki described Bipin as “the son of every Nepali mother”. “No one can ever forget Bipin,” she said. “We take pride in his courage and the struggle he endured.”

Joshi’s body had been recovered last week from Hamas’s captivity and returned to Israeli authorities before being repatriated to Nepal.
