Bipin Joshi’s family meets PM Karki

KATHMANDU: The family of Bipin Joshi, who has been missing since the Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023, met Prime Minister Sushila Karki at Singha Durbar on Sunday.

After the meeting, Bipin’s mother, Padma, said they urged the prime minister to intensify efforts to trace her son. “The previous government gave us assurances, but no tangible results were seen,” she said. “We have hopes from this government.”

Bipin’s sister Pushpa added that she believed Prime Minister Karki, being a mother herself, would understand the suffering of a Nepali mother.

Prime Minister Karki assured the Joshi family that the government would take initiatives for Bipin’s release.

On Saturday, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas released a poster featuring photographs of 46 hostages, including Bipin Joshi, under the name Ron Arad – an Israeli Air Force navigator whose plane went down over Lebanon in 1986.
