Three new ministers sworn in

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has inducted three ministers into her interim cabinet.

At a ceremony held at the Office of the President on Monday, President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers.

Rameshwor Khanal has been appointed Minister for Finance, Om Prakash Aryal as Minister for Home Affairs, and Law and Parliamentary Affairs, and Kulman Ghising as Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; Federal Affairs and General Administration; Urban Development; and Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

Khanal is a former finance minister, while Ghising is a former executive director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). Aryal, an adovcate by profession, was serving as legal adviser of Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah.

Karki, who is heading an interim government following the successful Gen Z protest, has said that she would make a small cabinet.
