KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has appointed Sushila Karki as the interim Prime Minister.
Former Chief Justice Karki was appointed on Friday evening to lead the interim Council of Ministers as Prime Minister on the recommendation of representatives of the Gen Z movement which toppled KP Sharma Oli-led government on Tuesday.
The appointment was made as per Article 61 (4) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015, which states that upholding and protecting the Constitution shall be the President’s primary duty.
