KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah has said that the rally scheduled for Monday at Maitighar Mandala was a spontaneous expression of the Gen Z generation.
“Tomorrow’s rally clearly belongs to Gen Z. They are under 28 years of age, to whom even I may seem old. I also want to understand their wishes, goals and perspectives,” Shah wrote in a social media post on Sunday.
He urged political parties, leaders, activists, lawmakers and campaigners not to use the rally for their own interests. “Please, do not try to turn this spontaneous rally into an opportunity to serve your agendas,” he said.
Although he mentioned that he would not be able to attend due to age considerations, Mayor Shah said it is important to listen to and understand the voices of Gen Z. “They have my full support,” he added. “Dear Gen Z, tell us what kind of country you want to see.”
