KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index closed trading 4.83 points higher at 2,766.09 points on Tuesday.
Despite the gain, unit prices of 149 scrips fell while 101 advanced. Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd topped the turnover chart with a turnover of Rs 489.57 million. Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd and NRN Infrastructure & Development were next with turnovers of Rs 217.11 million and Rs 194.89 million, respectively.
Total turnover fell to Rs 4.18 billion as only 9.24 million units were traded on the bourse on Tuesday through 45,116 transactions.
Among sectoral indices, nine posted gains while four ended the session in the red. Manufacturing & Processing sub-index posted the biggest loss of 0.68%, while Others’ sub-index posted the highest growth of 1.42%.
