KATHMANDU: A Pakistani parliamentary delegation held a courtesy meeting with Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire at his office in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Receiving the delegation led by Munaza Hassan, Speaker Ghimire highlighted the friendly relations between Nepal and Pakistan and the prospects for regional cooperation. He underlined the need to move forward with shared agendas on climate change, sustainable development and the livelihood challenges faced by mountain communities.
The delegation is in Nepal to attend the Hindu Kush Himalayan Parliamentary Conference, which concluded in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Ghimire also said parliamentary cooperation was key to exploiting trade, connectivity and tourism potentials between the two countries.
Hassan congratulated Nepal for successfully hosting the Hindu Kush Himalaya “Parliamentarians Meet 2025” and praised Nepal’s role in mitigating the impacts of climate change and protecting mountain ecosystems.
