PARBAT: An elderly couple has gone missing after a landslide buried their house at Langdi settlement in Modi Rural Municipality-3 of Parbat.
Chhabilal Bishwakarma nd his wife Bishnumati, both 76, are missing as their single-storied house was buried in the landslide on Sunday morning. The couple’s daughter-in-law, Pabitra (32), managed to escape by jumping out of the home when the landslide struck, according to Santosh BK, chairperson of Ward-3.
BK said a search operation is underway for the couple.
Inspector Ram Prasad Sapkota of the District Police Office, Parbat, said a police team has left for the incident site.
Heavy rainfall has been occurring in Parbat and surrounding areas since last night.
